Secret Donor Project

How does your organization really treat its donors? Do you thank your donors right away ? How long does it take your donors to receive their tax receipts? And how many times are you really contacting your donors over the course of one year? To help find the answers to these questions and many more, B&A launched a secret donor project over a year ago and has been tracking the results ever since.

The idea behind the project is simple - to find out how donors are really being treated in Canada. To help find these answers, three secret donors each donated $20 to the same 21 pre-selected organizations spanning a variety of causes such as healthcare, developing world relief, overseas causes, environmental, etc. Each donor made their donations under their own name (not our company name) because we wanted them to be treated just like your donors would really be treated in the real world. One of the donors gave by direct mail, another donor gave by telephone and the third donor gave on-line.
